Akua Ampah is an Early Career Development professional who has worked in higher education for over five years helping students transition smoothly to the world of work through career coaching and guidance, interview preparation, connecting students and recent graduates to industry, through internships, mentorship, and job shadowing opportunities.
She is an advocate for early-career support for young people, irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds.
Akua is the founder and Lead Coach at Virtual Career Office. She also runs a consultancy that provides early career development solutions to educational institutions, employers, and development agencies.
Prior to starting her consultancy, she worked as a Senior Career Development Advisor at Ashesi University, where she supported students with their career development, managed experiential learning programs (mentorship and job shadowing), assisted with employer engagements, and organized career events to enhance students’ employability.
Akua is also a World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Emerging Leader.
